About Fatima Noorani, MD

Welcome. I’m a psychiatrist and psychotherapist based in Virginia providing warm, comprehensive, evidence-based mental health care to adults in the DMV area.

I believe in treating the whole person by appreciating, understanding, and addressing the connection between mind, body, spirit, and environment.

While I work with individuals from all backgrounds, I have extensive experience treating multicultural and BIPOC individuals, pregnant and postpartum clients, and first- or second-generation immigrants.

My approach is collaborative, respectful, and culturally informed. I offer psychiatric evaluation, medication management, psychotherapy, and combined treatment (psychotherapy and psychiatry). If you’re already working with a therapist, and need a psychiatrist to manage your medication treatment, I can help.

I’m a first generation immigrant to the US from India. The move was not easy, but after my own work in therapy I have come to realize how much that experience has led to my growth.

I’m familiar with immigration challenges, acculturation, and finding your unique identity by integrating different cultures, belief systems, and values.

Through my journey of self-discovery, growth, and healing I have leaned heavily on relationships with friends and family as well as my spiritual connection, and found it to be an incredible resource.

While relational or spiritual coping may not be tools that work for you, I will work with you to identify your strengths and values and support you in your unique journey to find your perspective.
